I am a professor of Victorian literature and culture. I find it impossible to get through a whole day without reading something, writing something, or researching something (often, all three). While “research” might smack of being esoteric–or worse, dull–I prefer to think of it as an endless rabbit hole of possibility. Anything might be worth a second glance, and you never know what you’ll find if you ever finally hit bottom.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go?” “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
